If you love skiing and you are great at what you do, then there is no other more rewarding job for you than to be a skiing instructor. This is a dream come true for skiing aficionados, even though this job tends to be seasonal. However, if you are really competent enough, you can become one of the many reliable skiing instructors hired by different ski lodges all over the world. But first, you have to do a few things so that you will become a legitimate skiing instructor.
Of course, all skiing instructors in the world are proficient skiers. Otherwise, they will not be able to become a skiing mentor. If you are in doubt about your skills or you experience in skiing, you can undergo a ski instructor training. This is great for brushing up your skills, especially if you have not had practice for a long time.
Once you have already taken a ski instructor course and you are now more confident of your skiing abilities, you need to get certified. You can get certifications in three different areas – adaptive, alpine, and Nordic. While you can just opt for one certification, it is still better to be certified in all three areas if you meet their qualifications. Find out their requirements and pass tests so that you will be able to get a certificate to become one of the skiing instructors.
When you are already a certified ski instructor, there is nothing that will hinder you from finding a job. Just like other job searchers, skiing instructor also look for jobs in classified ads and internet listings. You can find jobs in your area or even in the rest of the world. The best season for you to look for a job is during the winter season.
Make sure that your resume features all your qualifications as a ski instructor, including the ski instructor training you got, your experiences in skiing and teaching, as well as your certifications. Submit your resume to many different employers.
